The Federal Government has reiterated its resolve to execute the 2026 Budget, a consolidation budget designed to stimulate economic growth, strengthen security, and improve the wellbeing of Nigerians.

The Honourable Minister of State for Finance Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite, made the pledge on Monday while presenting the budget to the Senate, outlining major reforms and priorities.

She explained that the 2026 budget prioritises reinforcing macroeconomic stability, speeding up infrastructure development, enhancing security, and maintaining fiscal discipline through tax reforms and efficient execution.

The Minister stated that responsible fiscal management and revenue generation will receive priority, alongside tax reforms designed to expand the tax base and improve compliance.

Dr Uzoka-Anite added that targeted investments in security, infrastructure, and education will be undertaken, using public-private partnerships and development financing to speed up economic growth.

The 2026 Budget marks a significant transition from economic stabilisation towards growth, consistent with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The Minister reiterated the government’s determination to implement, monitor, and deliver measurable benefits to Nigerians, ensuring the budget results in better security, infrastructure, and economic opportunities for everyone.
